Ears and Teeth

Well, theose beautiful bare ears you see above are no more: Caroline has had her ears pierced. I told her she could do it when she turned eight, but for 11 months she has been too afraid of the pain to actually do it. We have been to the jewelry store in the mall two or three times, but she couldn't follow through. Then yesterday morning she came into my room and said, "Mom, I thin I want to get my ears pierced." So of course i said, "Get your shoes on and let's get out the door!" We went right to the mall and before she could change her mind it was over. The whole time she kept saying, "I can't believe I'm doing this!" She was surprised how little it actually hurt- all she said was "OW!" Then we chose three more pair of earings to wear when the ears are healed. The original studs are super cut little cz daisies. $49.50 later (33 for the piercing and oroginal gold studs, the rest for the other three earings) Caroline kept saying, "THANK YOU SO MUCH MOM! I can't believe how lucky I am." That is really the truth.

Brin has taken to using TWO toothbrushes to brush her teeth at night. She chooses two different princess toothbrushes, loads them up with toothpaste and then brushes with both at once, one left the other tight, or one brush on top the other on the bottom. She knows she's funny.

Jeff gets back from Seattle tonight at midnight. Caroline recently said, "Dad is gone so much that it's actually more weird when he's home, because I'm used to him being out of town."

The Music Man and the TV generation

Grandma Beverly treated us to a night at the Scera outdoor theatre this Saturday night to celebrate Jeremy Runia's birthday. In preparation for the Music Man I rented the movie version from the library for the girls. They absolutly loved it and have been singing all week.

About five minutes into the show Brin turned to me and said, "So- you can't pause this show, right?"

How spoiled we are by the Tivo...

cakes

It has now been eleven years since Jefff and I cut our wedding cake. This picture from his birthday got me thinking about the many cakes we've cut over the last decade plus. Here are just a few-

8 birthday cakes for Caroline Nicole
4 birthday cakes for Brinley Lauren
22 birthday cakes for Jeff and I
2 wedding cakes for siblings (we wish there were 2 more!)
12 Christmas carrot cakes (a family tradition)

That's a lot of sugar- and I'm not talkin' about the cakes!

Happy Birthday Jeff!

Jeff turned 34 on July 19th, just days before our 11th wedding anniversary. We went to dinner at Magelby's with Grandma Beverly, Jenny and Jeremy and Paige and our three sweeties. Afterward we went to our house for cake and ice cream. Jeff loves being surrounded by addoring, beautiful women!!! tee-hee.
